Video extract from the concert we played at the Fabbrica Europa Festival. We worked on this creation of Jose-Miguel Fernandez during residencies at GRAME studio and IRCAM, to set the motion tracking system for each musician’s gestures.

We are thinking in a concert program with this piece and two solos, one improvisation in trio with live electronics and maybe a new creation in duo.

TABLE DE PING-PONG INTERACTIVE

Les émeudroïdes ont présenté l’ultime avatar de l’EMUPO à la capitale teutonne toute esbaudie, dans le cadre de Ankunft : Neue Musik. Nous sommes arrivés en gare le 31 Août avec armes, bagages et table de ping pong. Nous ne sommes d’ailleurs pas allé beaucoup plus loin ; c’est même dans cette gare que nous avons installé ce futur best-seller déjà bien connu sous le nom d’Emupong, conçu en collaboration avec Wolfram Sander. Est-il utile de préciser que les clubs de tennis de table se l’arrachent d’ores et déjà – une étude de marché préalable ayant en effet bien montré l’attirance (au demeurant suspecte) des entraîneurs pongistes pour la musique concrète.

Presentation at “Médiathèque de Vaise” in Lyon. With the support of: Hessische Theaterakademie, Institut für Angewandte Theaterwissenschaft Gießen, Stadt Gießen.

“On one hand I wanted to show the materiality of an emotion (like in this case, grief) but also the transformation of the perception of the world that changes radically when one is struck by very strong emotions or struggles with them. I have related this transformation of the world by the mere perception to the idea of romantic landscape paintings that very often try to capture a certain extreme emotional double-reaction towards nature as the most strange and the most familiar thing in the world.” Sarah Bahr
